Easter Activities in Jacksonville

From the mystique of the Easter Bunny to the excitement of the egg hunt, Easter is an exciting time for toddlers and even older children. A number of organizations, both religious and non-religious, are hosting Easter activities and egg hunts in Jacksonville. Many churches not listed are also hosting egg hunts for members; such events may or may not be open to the public.

1. 2012 Rabbit Romp Egg Hunt at the Jacksonville Zoo

This year's egg hunt at the Jacksonville Zoo divides the hunt into three age groups: 0-3, 4-6 and 7-10. The hunt for the youngest children begins at 10 a.m. The middle group's hunt begins at 11 a.m., and the oldest group's hunt begins at noon. The hunts are free with normal Zoo admission.

2. St. John's Town Center - Easter Bunny Meet and Greet

The St. John's Town Center's Easter event is on April 7, 2012. The Easter Bunny will be on site, posing in pictures with children for free. Photographers are not provided, so bring your own camera.

3. Sweet Pete's Marshmallow Classes

Sign up for this class to learn how to make your favorite Easter-themed treats from scratch. Tickets are $15 per person (4 person minimum).

4. Adventure Landing's Easter Egg Hunt

Over 2,000 eggs stuffed with prizes and candy will be hidden in Adventure Landing's mini-golf course. The first Easter egg hunt with the Easter Bunny begins at 9 a.m. and the second begins at 11 a.m. Registration begins at 8:15 a.m. There are two age groups for the hunt: 3 to 7 and 8 to 10. Adventure Landing requests a $3 donation per child, which benefits the Children's Miracle Network. Tickets range from $10 to $15.

5. Aqua Egg Hunt

This "floating" Easter Egg hunt takes place at Julington Creek Plantation Recreation Center and Athletic Club in St. John's County. Pre-registration is required at a cost of $6 per child. The hunts are divided into various age groups at various times.

6. 54th Annual St. Augustine Easter Parade

St. Augustine is approximately 30 minutes from the center of Jacksonville. The historic city is hosting its 54th annual Easter Parade starting at San Marco Avenue and ending at Francis Field.

7. MOCA's Easter Brunch

MOCA's Cafe Nola will feature a full brunch feast on Easter Sunday, including fresh salads and pastries, as well as hot entrees. The cost is $25 for adults and $8 for children 10 and under. Reservations required.
