2. WWE
The WWE comes to Jacksonville at the Veteran's Memorial Arena as part of its nationwide tour. The show is on Friday, August 3, starting at 7:30.
3. Less Than Jake
The ska-punk band originally from Gainesville comes back to Jacksonville. Less Than Jake will perform at Jacksonville Beach's Freebird Live venue on August 10. The show starts at 8 p.m. The band is best known for their singles "The Science of Selling Yourself Short" and "She's Gonna Break Soon."
4. Hip Hop Royalty Tour
The Hip Hop Royalty Tour features Slick Rick, Chubb Rock, DJ Cool, Whoodini and Big Daddy Kane. The show is at the Times-Union Center for Performing Arts and starts at 7:30 p.m.
5. Jim Gaffigan
The talented and self-deprecating comedian Jim Gaffigan comes to Jacksonville on August 11 at 7 p.m. at the Florida Theatre.
6. Doug Stanhope's Big Stink Comedy Tour 2012
The abrasive and talented comedian, known for his on-stage drinking, makes his way back to Jacksonville on Wednesday, August 15, 2012. The show is at Downtown Jacksonville's Underbelly. The doors open at 8 and the show starts at 9 p.m.
7. Bad Veins
The indie orchestra-rock two piece comes to Jacksonville on August 16th at Jack Rabbits in San Marco.
8. Steve Vai in Concert
The legendary guitarist comes to Jacksonville's Florida Theatre on August 18. The show starts at 8 p.m.
9. Flo Rida
Tramar Dillard, better known as Flo Rida, is performing in Jacksonville on August 23, 2012 at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. The show starts at 7:30 p.m. Flo Rida is best known for his 2008 hit "Low," which stayed at the top of the charts for 10 weeks.
10. 14th Annual Toast to the Animals
Join others for the 14th annual Toast to the Animals, an event promoting awareness and raising funds for the Jacksonville Humane Society. Tickets are $50. The event is at the Omni Hotel downtown on Friday, August 24. It starts at 6 p.m. The event includes food, beer, wine, desserts and gourmet hors d'oeuvres. Ticket prices increase to $60 the day of the event.
11. Matisyahu & The Dirty Heads
Reggae alt-rockers Matisyahu & The Dirty Heads come to Jacksonville's Florida Theatre on August 29. The show starts at 8 p.m.
