Events in Jacksonville - February 2013

February 2013 in Jax has plenty of things to do. A number of well-known musicians are making stops on the First Coast this month, including Willie Nelson, The Steve Miller Band, Kenny Rogers and Jimmy Buffett. February is also the last month without the Riverside Arts Market, which opens back up in March.

A Benny Goodman Tribute (Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra)

This 11 a.m. performance is a tribute to the King of Swing, Benny Goodman. Tickets range from $16 to $26 at the Times-Union Center for Performing Arts o February 1.

John Edward at the Florida Theatre

John Edward is a man with a reputation for "connecting with the other side." His live tour stops in Jacksonville on February 1st. Doors open at 6 p.m., and the two-hour show starts at 7 p.m.

WWE Smackdown

WWE Smackdown comes back to Jacksonville on February 5th at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Soul Asylum at Freebird Live

The alternative rock group from Minnesota, perhaps best known for their hit "Runaway Train," comes to Jacksonville Beach's Freebird Live on February 6th. Tickets are $20.

Jimmy Buffett Live

Does Jimmy Buffett really need an introduction? Margaritaville comes to Jacksonville on February 7 at the Veterans Memorial Arena. The show starts at 8 p.m.

Willie Nelson

The man, myth and legend in the flesh: Willie Nelson. Nelson returns to Jacksonville's Florida Theatre on February 8th at 8 p.m.

Katt Williams

The hilarious but sometimes controversial comedian Katt Williams performs at the Veterans Memorial Arena on February 8th at 8 p.m.

Johnny Winter Live

The acclaimed blues singer-songwriter comes to Ponte Vedra Beach on Valentines Day. The show is at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and starts at 8 p.m. Winter is a Blues Foundation Hall of Fame Inductee and ranks in Rolling Stones Top 100 Guitarists of All-Time (74th).

Steve Miller Band

The veteran group has released 18 studio albums and 29 singles since their start in the 1970s. SMB is perhaps best known for "Fly Like an Eagle" and "The Joker." The band plays at the Florida Theatre on Valentines Day at 8 p.m.

Kenny Rogers

Kenny Rogers, like a lot of folks on this list, needs no introduction. He's produced, written and performed hit music in a number of genres, and is even a successful entrepreneur (Kenny Rogers Roasters). He'll be at the Florida Theatre on February 16th.
