F.A.Q.
- Q. Where exactly is Jacksonville?
- A. Jacksonville is the northernmost city on Florida's East Coast. It's bordered by Nassau County to north, Baker County to the West, Clay and St. Johns counties to the south and the Atlantic Ocean to the east.
- Q. What's the weather like in Jacksonville?
- A. Yearly average low temperatures run 45 to 64 degrees in January. Average high temps can range from 74 to 90 degrees in July. September is our rainiest month, so if you'd like to take in a day at our beautiful beaches, plan you trip for March, April or May. One phrase you'll hear a lot here: "If you don't like the weather, wait ten minutes." Daily temps vary significantly some months, so we learn to wear layers. You may don a jacket in the morning, peeling down to a tank top by early afternoon.
- Q. What's the average age in Jacksonville?
- A. Our median age is 36, significantly younger than many Florida counties. Our largest age group (16 percent) is 35-44, followed closely by 45-54 year olds (15 percent) and 25-34 year olds (13 percent). Source: 2005 U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey.
- Q. What is the median income?
- A. The First Coast's median household income is $47,323. That's higher than bout the statewide median income of $42,440 and the national median of $46,326. Source: 2005 U.S. Census Bureau American Community Survey.
