Manning call Jaguars 'a good team'

By October 9, 2013

Follow me on:

It's been mostly a season of downs for the Jaguars and their fans. While expectations were quite low entering the season due in part to a roster-rebuilding purge, it was hard to imagine it being this bad.

But this bad it has been,  indeed. Through five games, the Jaguars are 0-5. The club's stat sheet is competitive only with the team's generally considered the worst of all time, including the 1976 Buccaneers.

The Jaguars opponent this week -- the Broncos -- are on quite a different path. Led by Peyton "Like a fine wine" Manning, the Broncos have scored an average of 46 points per page -- an average nearly as high as the Jaguars' season points total (51).

But that didn't lead Manning to downplay his opponent (well, at least not to the media). "We're playing a good NFL football team," Manning said, of the 0-5 Jaguars. With less than a week to go to gameday, the Jaguars are listed as 28-point underdogs. That's the highest points spread in NFL history, folks...

The game is Sunday, October 13, 2013 at 4:05 EDT at Sports-Authority Field at Mile High. It will be broadcast locally on CBS.
