Is Gene Smith done in Jacksonville?

By December 13, 2012

Follow me on:

Jaguars' GM Gene Smith is taking the bulk of the blame in Jacksonville for the Jaguars' failures (their record presently stands at a disappointing 2-11). Jags' owner Shahid Khan has no publicly revealed whether or not Smith will be retained after the season, but some are speculating the ride is over.

"From what I'm hearing, Shahid Kahn will not invite Jaguars general manager Gene Smith back in 2013," writes Don Banks of CNN's Sports Illustrated.

Banks ranks the Jaguars dead last in his Power Rankings for Week 15. Fans in Jacksonville are certainly longing for the glory days of Jaguars' football. The club hasn't made the playoffs since 2007.

Check out our Jaguars season-by-season overview, which now includes the Jaguars 1996 Cinderella season.
