McDonald's restaurants in Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia will be giving away free McRib sandwiches beginning today at 6 p.m., according to the Florida Times-Union's Deals blog.
Each location will give away 50 of the popular sandwich on a first-come-first-serve basis.
There are 35 McDonald's locations in Jacksonville.
Some stores may have long lines for the free sandwich, given its cult-like following. The sandwich was introduced in 1981 and is sold sporadically, often seasonally.
